Episode 202
If you are a new reader, you might want to subscribe to “Holiday Wars” as well as start reading it from the beginning. Once you’re caught up on the main storyline then checkout the side stories in “Tales of Holiday’s Past.”
Looks like they found something!
heh, my first reaction to the aurora was "NEEEAAT!" that was in 70's springfield, mo. See it on occasion here in baja canada.
I've never seen it in person and have always wanted to. I'm jealous.
"Whinning" should be "whining"
I fixed it on the file. I'll upload the correct version when I get a chance. Thanks!
Nice background!
Thanks! G (the colorist) and I went back and forth with like six versions of this page until I thought it was right.
okay i know that aurora borealis was part of Santa's origins in some of the Christmas stories{well most of them} but how the sam's hill did he fit that under ground.. or is just not in human form{i seem to remember she had a human form when she gave Santa klaus his powers} so it would make sense if aurora is the holiday spirit since she was responsible for Rudolph red nose and Santa Klaus's powers and long life.
Is it the aurora borealis or does it just look like it? Maybe it's the Holiday Spirit? Or maybe it's just a reflection? Or maybe it's a giant HD TV showing footage of the borealis? Or maybe…
well going by the stories that me and you grew up on scott i would have to say its might be her, but in weaker version of her to some degree if you remember she was getting weak so maybe that's why santa hid the holiday spirit
Including the borealis at all is a slight nod to the old Rankin Bass specials but in "HW" it's not sentient or a character.
oh i see what you saying … hmm gotta figure this out it, if its the spirit but not been contained in a vessel of sorta maybe that what the birthmark is to make the spirit become contained in tegan but not a prison like gia and spirits that go back into the tree once the host is dead like Santa he gave up the spirit and was hidden so that it could find new host worth of being Santa Klaus ?
LOL! That last piece of dialogue Pure WIN!!! 😀
Side question, what year is it in the HW world?
And since they have Twi-something, is their world the same as ours?
We are using a sliding scale for "Holiday Wars."
So it is "present day" but I don't give an exact year for modern stuff. Mostly cause each volume will take 2 real years to finish. So we could be talking 10+ years before "HW" is finished and I don't want people reading it then saying "why is this set back in 2010?"
As for the world… its more or less the same as ours, except for the existence of Holidays & Gods & all 😉
