Old Debts 19
If you are a new reader, you might want to subscribe to “Holiday Wars” as well as start reading it from the beginning. Once you’re caught up on the main storyline then checkout the side stories in “Tales of Holiday’s Past.”
And now we know how Santa found out that The Bunny was going to betray him!
Don’t forget, Volume 1 is now on Kickstater! Basically we just need a boost here at the start so that the project looks viable. Once it looks like it has some support, people who aren’t one of our regular readers will start to make pledges. We really need your help to get things kickstarted (pun intended)!
Now that…I wasn't Expecting that.
And now we know where the name of this story comes from 🙂
This much I called but one day to prepare. Of course Santa does move fast. He is the most powerful holiday as well. It makes me wonder if his preparations are a little deeper than we think, and this might end up with him either still alive or making a comeback.
The April Fool might be a shapeshifter and trickster, but Loki is the God of mischief and deceit. His pranks and deceptions are legendary and often involve shapeshifting as well. More importantly he's been known to have created illusions so realistic someone would be convinced they were doing one thing while doing something else entirely.
Frankly I hope that isn't the case because it would be a copout to introduce the possibility this late in the series. Too much Deus ex Machina but setting something up where Santa put his power, the "Holiday Spirit," into Tegan so when the time comes she can summon him or at least his power. I know you won't answer anything like before but I have a gut feeling that is one possible ending here. Tegan might just end up as the new Santa Claus.
Maybe Tegan is an illusion… a perfect construct created by Loki to fool everyone and loki is now the posseser of the Holiday Spirit? Or maybe Santa did manage to destroy The Holiday Spirit and Tegan is the new Santa? Or Maybe the Bunny is working for Loki and this is one big scheme? Or maybe…
Ok seriously though… Nice theory and Ill say this. We won't see Loki again in volume 1 or 2.
Thanks, that nicely closes the Dues Ex Machina bit. Still leaves the possibility of Santa pulling a fast one I notice. ^_~
Theoretically, a reader should be able to read "Volume 1" and understand it without having to read "ToHP." "ToHP" is meant to fill in smaller holes (like why Beth was such a bitch to Tegan at the start of the story) or to set-up some mythos. So I would've never had Loki randomly show up in Act III of Volume 1. If I ever did something like that I would do the set-up for it in the main storyline and not in "ToHP."
It's wrongly spelled, should be "Sinterklaas" 😉
It's not my fault this time! The guest artist did the lettering on the envelope and I tried to photoshop it but it didn't look as nice when I fixed it. So my plan was to leave it and blame it on Loki being a bad speller.
We all blame something else for our typos. Might as well be Loki!
