Just wanted to say that this Webcomic has rekindled my love for holidays, and I've found many since I began reading it. Yesterday was Groundhogs Day, today is Four Chaplains Day, and tomorrow is Facebook's Birthday (Not really a holiday, but certainly a significant event) I also learned Chocolate Cake Day because of this comic, thank you for pointing that one out 🙂
I'm glad there is at least one person out there enjoying it!
I've ALWAYS been a big fan of Holidays & Observances. The weirder the better! So I'm glad my love of holidays is seeping through to the readers. We even talked awhile back about maybe doing a calendar for 2012 listing all the really weird random holidays that a lot of people don't know about. I'm not sure if it will happen or not. It will really depend on if there is any kind of demand/interest.
I
likelove the calendar idea…I think that, while the main art should definitely be HW / TOHP art (or at least in that style, if not from any actual comic), I think it would be cool to have guest artists do artwork on each individual day based on the holiday or observance… and maybe have a bonus page (or bonus pages) at the end to allow room for some observances which may have been crowded out of some of the busier days in the main calendar.
I would love to lend a hand on making the calendar, and I would be happy to provide some of the individual day artwork (if the quality is up to your liking, of course…)
You should subscribe to Bizarre News at gophercentral.com. The first few days of each month, Lewis gives a list of days of the month, and the observances, um…observed. That where i first learned about Talk Like A Pirate Day.
I, for one, would love a calendar! please consider it!
Ya know, without their arrows, I can't exactly see these things as being threatening.
