Episode 163
If you are a new reader, you might want to subscribe to “Holiday Wars” as well as start reading it from the beginning. Once you’re caught up on the main storyline then checkout the side stories in “Tales of Holiday’s Past.”
And now that she has been brought up to speed, Tegan’s trademark decisiveness comes into play. Anyone think she is making a mistake?
oh Tegan's laying down the law with him now
i wonder if samhain going to try to kill him if he stays there while her and arbor day goes for a ride.
It's been awhile since I've let anyone die. We are due for a death.
You know, I don't think Mr. Halloween has been "Samhain" for a long time – in fact, I would go so far as to say the last time he was popularly known by that name, The Bunny was still a pagan goddess.
Though, if Scott ends up deciding that Halloween's "normal" name is Sam, that would be pretty cool …
😉
We won't learning what Halloween calls himself in Volume 1 but we will eventually learn it.
well being a actual pagan, i always call him samhain, but its actually pronounced saween since i was brought up knowing pagan his name..
and as for the bunny the bunny was actually a Greek/pagan goddess named estoria{may not have the correct spelling of the name} but was changed thru the centuries. and later adopted thru newer religions that wanted to change them to symbolic nature
I had already guessed at your reasons for using the term; hence my use of the word "popularly" – I'm sure you would agree (and hopefully won't take offense at me pointing out) that as a modern pagan, you are a member of a fairly small minority.
😉
FWIW, I have some friends who are pagan, and they usually pronounce Samhain as SOW-uhn – they gave that name to one of their cats – but I imagine the pronunciation may have drifted differently in different regions. It's all good.
As to The Bunny, I wasn't sure which goddess he might have been (I admit that most of my non-Christian mythological lore comes from research in the Deities and Demigods – now called Legends and Lore – tome for playing a cleric in D&D), but I figured it had something to do with the Spring Festival that we transformed into Easter.
no offense taken its actually pronounced but druids SAI-iean{Irish/Scottish by my parents teachings not how they do it now , by learning from someone that teaches them how to be a "witch" for a price by reading store bought books from others. but i seem to think i am kind a old age when i see some young people play around and do things that would gotten you killed by declaring it in public.
although they do have the concept right just more less private.
and bunny name is as i said she was the Greek/pagan demi goddess of fertility and life as you know thitse saying " doing it like bunnies" estoria meaning women and other parts i am still not sure that her correct naming and sure dont want to go looking, yeah you are right some books do loose the lost in translation, and as for "popularly" i been druid for about 40 years so i don't know if the popular religion would apply to me its been my way of life.
haha i gave my own cat that name due she was born on Halloween and it fitted her ideally due she was a calico..
I don't know… there has been something about Arbor Day that's been bothering me since he was introduced. Perhaps it is that he has been played as a foil against Labor Day, and we KNOW that Labor Day is really on Tegan's side since day 1 of this comic (saving her life many times). I think that Arbor Day may be a closet Bunny supporter.
Awwww but Wallace is so cool!
NOOO tegan can't say that!!! taylor is the strongest between him and wallace plus did everyone forget that Halloween wants to kill Labor Day??? she can't leave him with the creepy old guy!!!! lol i say she made the wrong descion..wallace is going to be knocked out in one hit and then won't be able to protect tegan… take Taylor!!
He took out April Fools, didn't he? Taylor wasn't able to do that.
ok so i was wrong. and im happy about that. I was going off Story Line Generics. this is much much better
Big mistake. Personally, I would bring along the guy with super strength. I don't know if it is, but the Holiday Spirit may be contained in somewhere cold and icy. No trees there, so blondie won't be very helpful.
Taking Wallace would be a mistake. Way to many hormones, not nearly enough common sense.
